| 12. Project/Activity summary (Titles: objectives, activities, achievements): |
Objectives: Survey of asbestos exposure, asbestos inspections in buildings, development of diagnostic criteria for asbestos-related diseases, collection of epidemiological data, training and information supply in human risks. Activities: In 1997 - 98 a total of 300 lung cancer patients were interviewed and over 1500 asbestos analyses were made from material and tissue samples. Two training courses were organized. Achievements: National asbestos programs were complemented successfully in cooperation with European partners. |
